  To start typing in Amharic, just type a word as it is pronounced in English. This would then be transliterated into Amharic. For E.g. if you type “inideti nehi?” then it would be transliterated into “እንዴት ነህ?”.

• What is difference between Translation and Transliteration?

  A translation tells you the meaning of words in another language. For E.g the translation of "Ethiopia is the oldest independent country in Africa and one of the oldest in the world." would be "ኢትዮጵያ ከአፍሪካ ረጅም ጊዜ ያለች አገር ናት." in Amharic.
